In recent hours, a publication that has become viral on social networks, notably Facebook and WhatsApp, says that professional footballer Paul Pogba would have joined the Northern Cameroonian division team "Gazelle Fa". After checking using reverse image analysis tools and with the club's communication unit, we could not have a denial.
Facebook and X pages (ex-Twitter) "Gazelle Fa de Garoua", which have 12,000 and 1,176 followers respectively publish this message:

The image, relaying this announcement, quickly became viral on social networks, notably on Facebook and WhatsApp.
Several pages, discussion groups and content aggregators shared this information. These include CFOOT, football from here and elsewhere and Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. This rumor comes just two days after the Gazelle-Colombe meeting, disputed last Sunday and which ended in a draw (1-1).
Checks
We contacted Junick Kambeu, publication director of the online newspaper '' Foot from here and elsewhere ', whose publication relaying information dates back to less than 10 hours. Joined by phone, he said "I can't give you anything as additional information. Group you from the Gazelle Communication Cell".
We then tried to get in touch with the club's communication unit, without success.
Our attention was then paid to the Facebook page of the footballer "Paul Pobga". Only one certified page, followed by more than 24 million followers, exists to date. After consultation, no publication mentioning a possible transfer to Cameroon is there. The last content broadcast dates back to June 06, 2024 in the form of an inspiring quote:

Image analysis
In addition to previous checks, a visual analysis of the shared image on social networks has made it possible to note several inconsistencies.
An inverted image search was carried out using Google Lens, without conclusive result. The Smallseotools and Tineye tools were also used, but no correspondence was found for this image.
Despite this, certain visual elements make it possible to assert that the background has not been changed. It would be an old photograph, dating, in all likelihood, at least three or four years.
A comparison between the original image and the manipulated version makes it possible to identify several modifications, in particular in specific areas of the original photography.
Conclusion
The information according to which Paul Pogba would have signed with the Cameroonian Gazelle FA club is inaccurate. Our approaches, contact with Junick Kambeu, publication director of football from here and elsewhere, to our unsuccessful attempts to attach the Communication cell of Gazelle FA, did not make any official confirmation.
In addition, the image analysis and the use of specialized tools such as Google Lens, Tineye and Smallseotools did not allow us to go back to a reliable source. In the absence of credible or verifiable elements, this viral publication is more like disinformation than information founded.
