By doing a simple Google search on this Beninese media, we remain perplexed. Two information sites with almost identical names appear: Ladepeche.bj and Ladepeche.info.
At first glance, the extension.BJ seems to make the first information site more credible but let's look more closely.
Dispatch on the bottom
The first, the Dispatch Afrique Info Info, is to be "a web space of the Pan -African daily newspaper, analyzes, investigation and advertising" while the second, the Depeche, claims to follow "live all the news: Benin's political news, news of Benin, Africa, the world, society". These two descriptions remain vague or even generic and therefore do not allow to really discriminate which of the two is an imposter.
Dispatch on form
Amazing, the logos of the two sites are exactly the same: colors, typography, style, words used, etc. One seems that one is only the extension or reduction of the other. The Ladepeche.info banner is also surprising since behind the logo hides a photo of a surgical mask like the one used against the covid pandemic. Let's take a closer look at their content to find out more.
After in -depth research, the truth falls
Everything lights up in the contact part: that of the second site Ladepeche.info is strange:
Beyond the completely eccentric text in header (which seems straight out of a WordPress template), it is the address indicated that surprises: Depeche would be domiciled in New York in the United States.
It is appropriate that all this is very strange: beware of sites that claim to be sources of information like Ladepeche.info which is actually only a pale copy of the real Beninese press site Depeche Afrique Info.
